If you haven't checked out Boxed Light already....

.... you really should!

I've included links from this page (check out the sidebar) to Jim Radcliffe's thoughts on the X10. It's good reading and even better viewing - some wondeful images which show what the camera can do in the hands of a great photographer.

Thanks for visiting. Perhaps I should introduce myself: I'm married with two kids, a dog and three cats and live in SE London. By day, I am a health services manager; it could be worse - we're not hated quite as much as politicians, some lawyers and many journalists. Outside work, I try to find photography opportunities as much as I can - helped by a patient dog who requires regular exercise. I wouldn't claim to be an expert - reasonably competent amateur may be closer to the mark. I've had a few compact digicams in the past but never loved the experience apart from the Panasonic LC1 - a camera that appealed to the "analogue" in me, and capable of wonderful images with its excellent Leica lens, albeit only at base ISO. My hope is the Fuji X10, may be a more capable replacement for those of us who want a camera with excellent handling and decent image quality, but without the bulk of the lenses that come with system cameras and SLRs. As this blog develops, I hope to explore what the X10 is (and isn't) good for, and share some hints and tips as I get to grips with its operation and capabilities. I hope you'll find it useful.
